1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how the LinkedIn Job Leads Chrome extension (“the Extension”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information.
By installing and using the Extension, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the Extension.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 User-Provided Profile Information
The Extension allows you to optionally save professional details to personalize generated comments and emails. This information is entered by you through the extension’s interface and may include:
- Skills and years of experience
- Salary expectations
- Email address and contact details
- Name and professional summary
- Education history (e.g., degree, institution, years)
- Work experience (e.g., role, company, duration, description)
- Settings such as “include email in replies”
This information is stored using Chrome’s chrome.storage APIs and remains
associated with your browser profile.
2.2 Job Opportunity Data
When you interact with LinkedIn posts using the Extension, it may temporarily read and process the visible text of those posts to:
- Detect whether a post is likely a job opportunity.
- Extract email addresses, if present in the post content.
- Store certain “job opportunity” entries (e.g., email address, author name, post content snippet, timestamp, sent-status) locally so you can review or act on them later.
This data is stored in Chrome’s local extension storage and is not transmitted to external servers by the Extension.
2.3 Usage and License Information
The Extension may track local usage counts (e.g., how many AI generations or email drafts were triggered during the current month) and store a license key along with a flag indicating whether a license is valid. This is used solely to enforce free-tier limits and unlock unlimited usage for licensed users.
2.4 Data Not Collected
The Extension does not collect or store:
- Your LinkedIn credentials or passwords.
- Your browsing history outside LinkedIn.
- Cookies or tracking identifiers for advertising.
- Any analytics data about your general web usage.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used strictly for the following purposes:
- To generate personalized LinkedIn comments and messages related to job posts based on the profile information you provide.
- To generate email subjects and bodies for job applications when you choose to contact a job poster via email.
- To detect and store job opportunity posts with email addresses so you can revisit them from the Extension’s interface.
- To manage free-tier usage limits and enable full access when a valid license key is provided.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third-party advertisers or data brokers.
4. Data Storage and Retention
All data stored by the Extension is kept locally using Chrome’s extension storage mechanisms
(chrome.storage.sync and chrome.storage.local) tied to your browser
profile.
Data may be retained for as long as the Extension is installed and the records remain in storage. You may delete this data at any time by:
- Editing or clearing fields within the Extension’s profile interface; or
- Using Chrome’s built-in “Clear browsing data” / “Site and extension data” tools; or
- Uninstalling the Extension.
5. Permissions & Third-Party Services
5.1 Chrome Permissions
- activeTab – Used to read and manipulate content in the currently active LinkedIn tab so the Extension can detect job posts and insert its UI elements.
- storage – Used to save your profile data, settings, usage counts, license status, and detected job opportunities on your device.
-
Host permissions –
https://www.linkedin.com/*– Required to scan visible posts, extract text, and insert the magic wand icon.https://api.gumroad.com/*– Required only when verifying a license key for premium access.
5.2 LinkedIn
The Extension interacts only with content that is already visible to you on LinkedIn. It does not modify your LinkedIn account settings or access private data beyond what is displayed on screen.
5.3 Gmail / Email Clients
When generating email drafts, the Extension may open Gmail (or another email client) with pre-filled subject and body via URL parameters. You remain in full control and must manually send any email.
5.4 Gumroad
If you enter a license key, the Extension sends that key and a product identifier to the Gumroad license verification API in order to confirm its validity. No other personal information is sent. Gumroad’s processing of that data is subject to Gumroad’s own privacy policy and terms.
5.5 Chrome AI APIs
Where available, the Extension may use Chrome’s built-in AI capabilities (such as text classification or text generation) to detect job posts and draft comments/emails. These features are provided by the browser and do not require sending your data to third-party AI servers within the Extension’s code.
6. Data Sharing
We do not share your personal data with third parties except in the limited case of license key verification with Gumroad (as described above).
Any LinkedIn comments you post or emails you send are shared only as a result of your own explicit actions (clicking “Post” or “Send”) and are governed by the respective platform’s privacy policies.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Extension is intended for adult users engaged in professional job searching and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the Extension, please contact us so we can assist with its removal.
8. Security
We rely on Chrome’s built-in extension platform and storage mechanisms to protect your data. While no system can guarantee absolute security, we do not implement any custom remote storage or external logging that would increase your exposure.
You can further protect your data by:
- Using a secure device and keeping your browser up to date.
- Clearing extension data periodically if desired.
- Uninstalling the Extension if you no longer wish to use it.
9. Your Choices & Rights
You have full control over whether and how the Extension stores your data:
- You may choose not to enter any profile information.
- You may edit or delete saved profile data at any time.
- You may stop using the Extension and uninstall it at any time.
If you have questions about your data or want help removing it, you can contact us using the email below.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date shown on this page. Your continued use of the Extension after changes are posted will constitute acceptance of the updated policy.
