Most information you provide—including saved jobs, application status, notes, and profile details—is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. This data does not leave your device unless you use the AI features.

B. AI API Keys

If you use the optional AI features, you provide your own API keys (OpenAI or Google Gemini). These keys are stored locally and encrypted within your browser. We never see or store your API keys on our own servers.

C. Resume Data

When you upload a PDF resume, the text extraction happens locally in your browser using pdf.js. The content is stored locally to provide context for AI-driven insights.

3. Use of Information

We use the information collected exclusively to:

  • Maintain your job application tracking dashboard.
  • Provide AI-powered job-fit scores and resume tailoring (only when triggered by you).
  • Synchronize settings (like daily goals) across your Chrome instances via chrome.storage.sync.

When using AI features, specific data (such as job descriptions and your resume text) is sent directly from your browser to your chosen AI provider (OpenAI or Google). This data transfer is subject to the privacy policies of those respective providers:

Since your data is stored locally, you have full control over it. You can delete all your data by:

  • Using the "Clear Data" option in the extension settings (if available).
  • Uninstalling the extension from Chrome.

We use industry-standard browser storage mechanisms. However, the security of your local data also depends on the security of your computer and browser. We recommend keeping your browser updated and using a secure device.
