Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your information.

Last updated: January 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the Fake Item Detector mobile application ("the App," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the App. By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information we collect

We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or social media profiles to use the App.

1.1 Anonymous device identifier

When you first launch the App, we generate a random, anonymous identifier (a device ID) that is stored locally on your device. This ID lets us associate your free credits, purchased credits, and scan history with your installation without identifying you personally.

1.2 Product images you submit

When you scan a product, the photo you capture or select is transmitted securely to our analysis service so the AI model can generate an authenticity assessment. Photos are processed only for the purpose of returning your result.

1.3 Scan history

The App stores a record of your past scans (including the photo, AI verdict, and timestamp) locally on your device. This information is not uploaded to our servers as a personal profile and you can delete your history at any time from within the App.

1.4 Purchase information

If you purchase credits via in-app purchase, Google Play handles the payment. We receive a purchase token from Google Play that we use to validate the transaction and credit your account. We do not see or store your credit card number, billing address, or other payment details.

1.5 Diagnostic and crash data

The App may collect non-personal technical information (such as error logs, crash reports, and basic device/OS metadata) to help us diagnose and fix problems. This data does not include the contents of your photos.

2. How we use your information

We do not use your information for behavioral advertising, profile-building, or sale to data brokers.

3. How we share information

We share information only as necessary to deliver the App and only with the following categories of recipients:

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Third-party services

The App relies on the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

5. Permissions we request

You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in your device settings. Some App features may stop working if a required permission is revoked.

6. Data retention

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect data in transit and at rest, including HTTPS/TLS encryption for all network requests and access controls on backend systems. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws (including the GDPR and CCPA), such as the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email us at sujith81159@gmail.com with your device ID (visible in the App's Settings screen) so we can locate your records. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this pag
